Yoruba Group Accuses Tinubu of Shielding Gbajabiamila, Demands Independent ProbeA Yoruba socio-cultural group, Ìgbìnmó Májékóbájé Ilé-Yorùbá, has accused President Bola Tinubu of shielding his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, over allegations linked to Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, who claims to be the Director-General of the Presidential Economic Advisory Council and the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council.
The group criticised the Presidency’s defence of Gbajabiamila, arguing that the allegations against the President’s Chief of Staff should be subjected to an independent investigation rather than dismissed through official statements. In a strongly worded statement issued on Wednesday, the group described the Presidency’s response as “like using urine as water and semen as soap for bathing,” insisting that such a defence undermines public confidence and fails to address the issues raised.According to the group, the allegations surrounding Prince Adeyemi’s claims and the activities of the controversial councils require a transparent and impartial probe to establish the facts and ensure accountability.
The group’s comments come amid growing controversy over the status of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, which the Presidency has maintained is not an official government body despite claims made by its alleged officials. As of the time of filing this report, the Presidency had not issued a fresh response to the group’s latest allegations
