Nigeria’s confirmed Ebola patient has been evacuated abroad for further medical treatment as health authorities intensify efforts to prevent the virus from spreading.According to reports, the 42-year-old woman was evacuated on Monday, October 26, 2026, after a medical evacuation aircraft arrived at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja to transport her. The development follows earlier reports that arrangements were underway to move her abroad for specialised care.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) said 53 primary contacts linked to the confirmed case had been identified and were being monitored. They include healthcare workers, the patient’s husband and domestic staff. The contacts are being followed up for 21 days after their last possible exposure to the virus.Meanwhile, two suspected Ebola cases, one in the Federal Capital Territory and another in Rivers State, have tested negative, according to health authorities. The NCDC has urged Nigerians to cooperate with contact-tracing teams and follow verified public health updates, stressing that being identified as a contact does not mean a person has Ebola.👉 Follow Daily Times Nigeria for more updates.#DailyTimesNigeria #EbolaOutbreak #NCDC #NigeriaHealth #trendingnow
