The Muslim World League is set to commission a state-of-the-art cardiac centre in Tudun Wada, Kaduna South Local Government Area, as part of efforts to improve healthcare delivery in Kaduna State.
The facility, which will be inaugurated on Tuesday by the Secretary General of the League, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, is expected to provide advanced cardiovascular diagnosis, treatment and care.
According to a statement by the Director General of the Kaduna State Interfaith Bureau, Malam Tahir Umar Tahir, the centre is a joint project between the Kaduna State Government and the Muslim World League.
Tahir said the facility would serve residents regardless of religious background and help reduce the number of Nigerians travelling abroad for cardiac-related medical treatment.
He highlighted the achievements of Governor Uba Sani’s administration in the health sector, noting that all 255 Primary Healthcare Centres in the state had been renovated, equipped and upgraded to Level 2 status.
The statement added that the administration had expanded access to maternal, newborn, child and adolescent healthcare services, strengthened immunisation and disease surveillance programmes, and improved emergency healthcare preparedness.
Tahir also said the state government had expanded health insurance coverage through the Kaduna State Contributory Health Management Authority and supported the implementation of the Basic Health Care Provision Fund.
He noted that secondary healthcare facilities across the state were being revitalised, with General Hospitals undergoing infrastructure upgrades and modern medical equipment provided to improve diagnostic services.
The Director General further stated that the government had prioritised the recruitment of healthcare professionals, strengthened workforce planning, and invested in continuous professional development.
He added that Kaduna State had maintained the implementation of the Consolidated Medical Salary Structure (CONMESS) for doctors and the Consolidated Health Salary Structure (CONHESS) for eligible health workers.
The commissioning of the cardiac centre will add another tertiary healthcare facility to Kaduna’s health system, alongside the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Specialist Hospital, which was commissioned by President Bola Tinubu in June last year.
