First City Monument Bank (FCMB) is set to bring together healthcare operators, investors, financiers, policymakers, development partners and industry experts at its inaugural Healthcare Summit aimed at unlocking funding opportunities and strengthening Nigeria’s healthcare sector.
The summit, scheduled for July 28, 2026, is themed “Financing Growth: Unlocking Opportunity, Building the Future of Healthcare.” It is designed to explore innovative financing models, partnerships and strategies for building a more sustainable healthcare system in Nigeria.
The Minister of State for Health, Dr Iziaq Salako, is expected to deliver the keynote address titled “The Future of Healthcare Financing in Nigeria,” setting the stage for discussions on investment, access to capital and healthcare delivery reforms.
The event will feature keynote presentations, executive sessions and panel discussions focusing on healthcare financing, investment readiness, governance, partnerships and strategies for growing healthcare businesses sustainably.
Speaking ahead of the summit, FCMB Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Yemisi Edun, said a strong healthcare system is essential to Nigeria’s economic development and requires collaboration between the public and private sectors.
She noted that sustainable healthcare delivery goes beyond medical expertise, stressing the importance of adequate financing, effective management, strategic partnerships and long-term investments.
According to Edun, FCMB remains committed to providing financial solutions that will enable healthcare providers to expand infrastructure, acquire modern equipment, improve working capital and enhance operational efficiency.
Nigeria’s healthcare sector continues to grapple with challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, rising operational costs, foreign exchange pressures, shortage of skilled manpower and limited access to investment capital.
The summit is expected to provide a platform for stakeholders to discuss practical solutions and identify opportunities that can drive growth across the sector.
FCMB will also showcase its healthcare-focused financial solutions during a session titled “Financing Healthcare Growth,” highlighting funding options for infrastructure development, equipment acquisition, digital transformation and business expansion.
President of the Healthcare Federation of Nigeria, Mrs Njide Ndili, will deliver an industry address on “Building a Stronger Private Healthcare Sector: Leadership, Collaboration and Sustainable Financing for the Future.”
Other sessions will examine topics including unlocking capital and partnerships for sustainable growth, building bankable healthcare businesses, and creating healthcare organisations capable of attracting investment.
The summit is being supported by Health Business Academy for Africa (HBA), which will serve as the technical partner by providing industry expertise and strategic support.
FCMB said the gathering is aimed at moving discussions beyond identifying challenges to developing practical financing solutions that will strengthen Nigeria’s healthcare ecosystem.
