Kwara PDP Urges AbdulRazaq to Secure Release of 176 Abducted Women, Children. The Kwara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to intensify efforts to secure the release of the 176 women and children abducted from Woro community in Kaiama Local Government Area, citing the recent rescue of kidnapped pupils and teachers in neighbouring Oyo State as an example of effective leadership. The victims were abducted during a night raid on February 3, 2026, and have remained in captivity despite military operations, government assurances and repeated public protests demanding their freedom.
The opposition party made the appeal in a statement issued on Saturday by its State Publicity Secretary, Olusegun Adewara, while congratulating the Oyo State Government on the successful rescue of the abducted schoolchildren and teachers after more than 50 days in captivity.According to the PDP, the Oyo rescue operation demonstrated that determined leadership, sustained public engagement and effective collaboration with security agencies could yield positive results in addressing insecurity. The party urged the Kwara State Government to adopt a similar level of commitment and coordination to ensure the safe return of the abducted women and children, stressing that the prolonged captivity of the victims had caused immense hardship for their families and the affected community.
The PDP also called on security agencies to intensify ongoing efforts to rescue the victims and restore confidence in the government’s ability to protect lives and property across the state.
