Students from three Lagos-based universities have been challenged to develop innovative solutions aimed at addressing Nigeria’s energy challenges during the All On @10 Hackathon.
The event, organised by All On Partnerships for Energy Access as part of its 10th anniversary celebrations, brought together students from the University of Lagos, Lagos State University, and Yaba College of Technology to design next-generation clean energy solutions.
The participants were grouped into six multidisciplinary teams and tasked with solving practical energy-related problems affecting sectors such as healthcare, agriculture, fisheries, cold-chain logistics, and education.
Each team was given one day to refine their ideas before presenting their solutions to a panel of renewable energy and innovation experts.
The team known as “Current Creators” emerged as the winner with its innovation, ColdLink — a digital platform designed to improve renewable-powered cold-chain logistics.
The platform combines real-time monitoring, predictive analytics, fleet management, and energy performance tracking to reduce post-harvest losses and improve the sustainability of clean energy systems.
Speaking at the event, Chief Executive Officer of All On, Caroline Eboumbou, said the hackathon reflects the organisation’s commitment to supporting young innovators and expanding access to clean energy across Nigeria.
She said All On had spent the past decade investing in people, businesses, and partnerships focused on improving energy access, adding that the hackathon would help young Nigerians develop solutions capable of shaping the country’s energy future.
Entries were evaluated based on innovation, technical feasibility, commercial viability, scalability, and potential social impact by a panel comprising Bolanle Adesan of SFM Limited, Dr James Ogunleye of Carbon Limits Nigeria, Henry Bassey of Green Hub Africa, and Babajide Sokeye of All On.
The hackathon was part of activities marking All On’s 10 years of operations, during which the company said it has invested about $47 million in over 50 energy businesses and provided improved energy access to an estimated 1.6 million Nigerians.
