Nigerians Can Visit 20 Non-African Countries Without Traditional Visa, Says Henley Index.Nigerian passport holders can now travel to at least 20 destinations outside the African continent without going through the traditional visa application process, according to the Henley Passport Index 2026.The latest ranking indicates that Nigerians can gain entry to the listed countries either visa-free, through a visa-on-arrival arrangement, or by obtaining an electronic visa (e-visa), making international travel more accessible.
The expanded access provides opportunities for Nigerian travellers to visit destinations across the Caribbean, Asia and the Pacific with fewer travel restrictions and less cumbersome entry procedures.Among the countries listed are Montserrat, Niue (visa on arrival), Palau Islands (visa on arrival), Samoa (visa on arrival), St. Kitts and Nevis, Timor-Leste (visa on arrival), Tuvalu, and Vanuatu. The Henley Passport Index ranks global passports based on the level of travel freedom they provide, assessing the number of destinations passport holders can access without obtaining a traditional visa before departure.
