Zamfara Marks 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based ViolenceStakeholders in Zamfara State have joined millions of people around the world to commemorate the annual 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence with a renewed call for collective action to end violence against women and girls.
The event commenced with an awareness walk led by the wife of the Zamfara State Governor, Hurriya Lawal. The procession began at the Sardauna Memorial Stadium and ended at the palace of the Emir of Gusau, where participants advocated for stronger efforts to combat gender-based violence.
.The awareness campaign was attended by Governor Dauda Lawal, his wife, government officials, civil society organisations, and other stakeholders.
.The activities later continued at Maryam Hall, where participants reinforced the need for a united response to prevent gender-based violence, protect survivors, and promote the rights and dignity of women and girls across the state
