Wike VS Gov. Hope Uzodimma: the two giant elephants in Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.Hope and Wike have been cat and rat to each other since Tinubu assumed office as president. Hope is a chairman of the APC governors forum, and also a critical stakeholder in Tinubu’s political book of reckon. Yesom Wike is a staunch PDP chieftain who was only appointed a minister of FCT by Tinubu based on his devilish role of manipulating 2023 presidential election results in his favour, in River State. Since Wike was appointed, he has been restless, trying to highjack the APC structure ahead of his 2031 presidential ambition. Hope knows that, and also has been doing all he could to stop him. Hope knows that if APC is hacked by Wike through the RAINBOW COALITION, APC will die off immediately after Tinubu, hence his efforts to ensure the rainbow coalition doesn’t come to reality. Hope has his own Senate Presidential ambition, which Godswill Akpabio foresaw and has been fighting.Here comes the greatest shock..As Hope and APC governors forum kick against Rainbow Coalition, Yesom Wike swung into lobbying Tinubu and somewhat succeeded. Today, most of the members of opposition political parties have been appointed into Tinubu’s presidential campaign team. This is a slap to Hope who had thought Tinubu should focus on APC, only.
As it is, another level of battleline has been drawn by Wike and Hope.Yesterday in APC’s presidential campaign inauguration event, I saw Wike and Hope snob each other when Wike was greeting everybody.But truth be told: APC will be in trouble before the end of 2031 if Tinubu wins. Wike will hijack both PDP and APC for his presidential ambition, and that’s exactly what Hope is fighting against. Tinubu will not have interest in APC party immediately after 2027 presidential election. That’s why he’s bringing in anyone irrespective of your party, as far as you want to help him win. The annoying part of the whole thing is that the battle is not about you and me, it’s not about governance, but endless ambition and hawkish greed.However, just like I always say, Wike may be loud and tough, but you see Hope Uzodimma, that guy is tougher.
