Wike Challenges Critics on FCT Road Projects, Vows to Resign if Claims Are FalseAbuja – The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, on Friday challenged anyone disputing his administration’s record on road construction in Abuja’s satellite towns to publicly prove him wrong within 48 hours, declaring that he would resign if his claims were found to be false.Wike threw the challenge while inaugurating the reconstructed Arab/Gbazango Road in Kubwa, where he highlighted what he described as the achievements of the Federal Capital Territory Administration under President Bola Tinubu.According to the minister, the FCT Administration has made significant progress in expanding road infrastructure in satellite communities since President Tinubu assumed office on May 29, 2023.
He said contracts had been awarded for the construction of 317 kilometres of roads across satellite towns, adding that 221 kilometres had already been completed, while work was ongoing on the remaining 96 kilometres.Wike maintained that the figures were verifiable and challenged critics of his administration to present contrary evidence within 48 hours, insisting that he would resign as minister if his claims were proven to be false.He described the road projects as part of the Tinubu administration’s commitment to improving infrastructure and expanding development beyond Abuja’s city centre to underserved communities in the Federal Capital Territory.
