A Great Loss to Delta State, the Niger Delta and Nigeria.I received with profound sadness the news of the passing of my dear colleague and former Governor of Delta State, Dr Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan.Dr Uduaghan and I had the privilege of serving our respective states as governors from 2007 to 2015. During those years, I came to appreciate his commitment to public service, his passion for the development of the Niger Delta and his contributions to our nation’s progress. He was a distinguished medical doctor, an accomplished administrator and a statesman who dedicated much of his life to improving the welfare of his people, particularly in healthcare, infrastructure and human capital development.Beyond his achievements in public office, he will be remembered as a bridge-builder who believed in cooperation, unity and the advancement of our region and country. On behalf of my family, the leadership and members of the 10th Senate.
I extend my heartfelt condolences to his beloved wife, Mrs Roli Uduaghan, his children, the entire Uduaghan family, the Government and people of Delta State, and the Itsekiri nation.May Almighty God grant his soul eternal rest and give his family and loved ones the strength to bear this painful loss.Rest in peace, my dear brother and colleague.
