Tinubu Fires Back at Opponents Over Hunger, Poverty, Says They Created the Problems Nigerians Face. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has blamed his political opponents for Nigeria’s hunger and poverty challenges, insisting that his administration is working to address them through economic reforms.Speaking after the flag-off of the All Progressives Congress (APC) 2027 presidential campaign in Kaduna, Tinubu defended the removal of the petrol subsidy and efforts to tackle fuel smuggling and fraudulent invoicing. He acknowledged that the economic adjustment had been difficult for Nigerians but promised that their sacrifices would not be in vain.
The President also praised APC governors for investing in roads, hospitals, schools and markets, saying increased revenue from the reforms was supporting development and regular salary payments across states.Tinubu urged Nigerians to come out with their Permanent Voter Cards on January 16, 2027, to vote for him and Vice President Kashim Shettima for a second term.
