Police Raid Adeyemi’s Family Home, Arrest Father as PFIPC Probe Deepens ABUJA — Pa Adetunji Adeniyi, father of Adeniyi Adeyemi, the self-styled Director-General of the controversial Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), has alleged that police operatives raided his residence three times within two days while searching for his son.
According to Pa Adeniyi, the operatives damaged parts of his home, confiscated mobile phones and eventually arrested him during the operations. On Monday, security personnel reportedly stormed the family’s residence in Ogbomoso, Osun State, arresting him alongside a family friend who was visiting at the time.
The development comes as the controversy surrounding the alleged “ghost” government agency continues to generate political reactions. The National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Prof. Sadiq Gombe, has called on the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, to resign over the controversy. Also reacting, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, challenged Adeyemi to stop evading security agencies and substantiate his allegations against Gbajabiamila instead of remaining in hiding.Last Wednesday, Adeyemi, who has been at the centre of the controversy, declared his readiness to cooperate with the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) over the alleged N1.3 billion allocation to the PFIPC in the 2026 budget.Speaking from an undisclosed location during a social media interview with internet personality VeryDarkMan, Adeyemi said he was prepared to hand over official documents to security agencies to aid ongoing investigations into the council.President Bola Tinubu had earlier directed the ICPC to investigate the matter within 30 days, maintaining that the PFIPC is not a recognised government agency and describing it as a completely fraudulent entity.Human rights lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Femi Falana, was among the first to publicly disclose the reported raid on Pa Adeniyi’s residence, drawing further attention to the unfolding investigation.
