The Plateau State Police Command has announced a temporary restriction on the operation of tricycles, popularly known as Keke NAPEP, in Jos Metropolis and other major towns across the state ahead of the Eid El Maulud celebration.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command, Alfred Alabo, disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday, stating that the measure was introduced to ensure a peaceful and smooth celebration of the Islamic festival.
The restriction will take effect on Tuesday,
August 25, 2026, which has been declared a public holiday by the Federal Government in commemoration of the 2026 Eid El Maulud.
The command urged residents and transport operators to comply with the directive, assuring the public that the measure was part of efforts to maintain security and order during the celebration.
