Oyo School Principal Says She Thought Police Had Recovered Her Car

The principal of Ahoro Esinle School in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, Mrs. Rachael Alamu, has revealed that one of the first questions she asked after regaining her freedom was about her car because she believed it had been recovered by the police.

Speaking on Monday after she and the rescued teachers and pupils were formally handed over to Governor Seyi Makinde at the Governor’s Office, Secretariat, Ibadan, Alamu said she was shocked to learn that the vehicle had instead been set ablaze by her abductors.

According to the school principal, she had assumed the car was safe following the rescue operation, only to discover later that it was destroyed during the period of captivity.

Alamu and the other victims were among those rescued after being abducted during an attack on the school, an incident that sparked widespread concern across Oyo State.The handover ceremony marked the formal return of the rescued teachers and pupils to the state government, with Governor Makinde receiving them at the Secretariat in Ibadan following their successful rescue by security operatives
