Osun Election: APC Senator Fadahunsi Threatens Accord Party Members. Senator Francis Fadahunsi, representing Osun East Senatorial District, has allegedly threatened members of the Accord Party with death ahead of Saturday’s Osun State governorship election.Fadahunsi reportedly made the threat while addressing supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ilesa, Osun State, in a video circulating online.According to the report, the senator told his supporters that any Accord Party member seen in the area before or on election day should be killed.He also reportedly warned that Accord Party members would not be allowed to cast their votes, even if they possessed Permanent Voter Cards.Fadahunsi further issued threats against traditional chiefs whom he accused of supporting the Accord Party, saying those who allegedly allowed themselves to be used by the opposition would face consequences.

The alleged remarks have heightened concerns over political violence in Osun State ahead of the August 15 governorship election.The development comes amid growing tension among political parties and allegations of intimidation and attacks as candidates intensify their campaigns ahead of the poll.The senator’s remarks, if confirmed, are likely to attract further calls from political parties, civil society organisations and security agencies for restraint and a peaceful electoral process.
