Former President Obasanjo discovered Umaru Musa Yar’Adua and brought him in as President. In the end, Yar’Adua proved to be one of the best Presidents Nigeria never had the opportunity to enjoy for long due to his untimely dèàth.Today, Obasanjo appears to be presenting Nigerians with another man in Mr. Peter Obi, almost as a replacement for what the country lòşt too soon in Yar’Adua. Sàďly, however, many Nigerians still do not seem to see what Obasanjo appears to be seeing.Interestingly, Peter Obi and Yar’Adua remain the only two governors who, to this day, are widely credited with leaving behind a reasonable amount of money in the treasuries of the states they governed.I have always maintained that Obasanjo may not be a saint, but one thing that cannot easily be taken away from him is his ability to identify quality leaders.
