Tijani Fatai, said officers were legally empowered to stop and search individuals where there was reasonable suspicion of criminal activity.James maintained that the practice remained a lawful and essential policing strategy aimed at enhancing public safety, preventing crime and protecting lives and property.The summit was organised by the Lagos State Office of Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement in collaboration with the Bureau of Public Defender.The event brought together government officials, police officers, legal practitioners, youth groups, civil society organisations and development partners to explore ways of strengthening police-youth relations and promoting community safety through dialogue and collaboration.
