Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has predicted that Spain will defeat Argentina in the final of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, insisting that only Lionel Messi’s brilliance can deny the European side the trophy.
Keyamo made the prediction in a post shared on his official social media platform on Sunday ahead of the highly anticipated World Cup final clash between Spain and Argentina.
The minister said Spain’s impressive performances throughout the tournament made them favourites to emerge champions, but acknowledged that Argentina captain Messi remains a special talent capable of changing the course of any match.
“Anyone who knows football very well should easily predict that Spain will beat Argentina today to win the World Cup,” Keyamo stated.
However, he noted that the “exceptional moment of magic” from Messi, whom he described as the “little boy from Rosario,” could upset the prediction.
“Unless there is an exceptional moment of magic by one ‘little boy from Rosario’ called Lionel Messi,” he added.
The final is expected to attract global attention as Spain seek another major international triumph, while Argentina aim to secure another World Cup title led by their legendary captain.
