Osun Election: INEC Reprints Ballot Papers, Result Sheets to Include SDP Candidate. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced the reproduction of ballot papers and result sheets for Saturday’s Osun State governorship election following the inclusion of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate, Dr Francis Olugbenga Ajala, on the ballot.INEC said the decision was taken in compliance with a Federal High Court judgment delivered in Abuja on July 22, 2026, directing the commission to recognise, accept, process and publish Ajala’s name and particulars as the SDP candidate.
The commission said Ajala’s running mate, Faseke Babajimi Oladipo, would also be included in the electoral materials.According to INEC National Commissioner and Chairman of its Information and Voter Education Committee, Mohammed Kudu Haruna, the inclusion of the SDP candidates brings the number of political parties contesting the August 15 election to 15.INEC said the reprinted ballot papers and result sheets are expected to arrive in Osun State on Thursday, August 13, two days before the election, and would subsequently be distributed to the commission’s local government offices across the state.
The electoral body assured political parties, candidates and voters of its commitment to conducting a free, fair and credible election in the state.
