2027: INEC moves to close operational gaps, PVC collection begins October 9The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced plans to address identified operational gaps ahead of the 2027 general elections.The commission also disclosed that the collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) will commence nationwide on October 9, 2026.INEC said the move was part of efforts to strengthen the electoral process and ensure eligible voters are adequately prepared for the elections.
.The commission urged registered voters who are yet to collect their PVCs to take advantage of the exercise and obtain their cards at designated collection centres.INEC also reiterated the importance of early preparations by political parties, candidates and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth and credible electoral process in 2027.
