FG Reaffirms Commitment to IMF Partnership, Economic ReformsThe Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining its partnership with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as it continues to implement fiscal and macroeconomic reforms aimed at restoring economic stability and promoting long-term growth.The assurance was given during a farewell dinner held in Abuja in honour of the outgoing IMF Resident Representative in Nigeria, Dr. Christian Ebeke.According to a statement issued on Sunday by the Head of Information and Public Relations at the Federal Ministry of Finance, Efe Ovuakporie, the government reiterated its resolve to work closely with the IMF in advancing reforms designed to strengthen public finances and improve macroeconomic performance.

The statement noted that the collaboration between Nigeria and the IMF remains important in supporting the country’s ongoing efforts to enhance fiscal discipline, improve economic resilience and create an enabling environment for sustainable development.The Federal Government also commended Dr. Ebeke for his contributions to Nigeria during his tenure as the IMF Resident Representative, acknowledging his role in fostering constructive engagement between the Fund and the country’s economic management team.It expressed confidence that the partnership with the IMF would continue to support the implementation of key economic reforms aimed at achieving inclusive growth, strengthening public institutions and ensuring long-term macroeconomic stability.
