FCTA Authority Resumes Demolition At River Park Estate Despite AGF Intervention.

FCTA Resumes Demolition at River Park Estate Despite AGF’s Intervention. The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), through its Department of Development Control, has resumed demolition operations at River Park Estate in Lugbe, Abuja, despite an intervention by the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN).

The renewed demolition exercise comes days after an operation involving armed police officers at the estate, an incident that drew public attention and was previously reported by SaharaReporters. The enforcement action has raised fresh concerns, as it follows a high-level intervention by the AGF’s office, which many had expected would halt or delay the demolition pending further review.Despite the intervention, officials of the FCTA’s Department of Development Control returned to the estate to continue the exercise, signaling the administration’s resolve to enforce its development control regulations.

The development is expected to further fuel the ongoing dispute surrounding River Park Estate, with affected property owners and other stakeholders likely to pursue additional legal and administrative measures in response to the demolition.
