Education Ministry Withdraws Proposed Fee Adjustment for Review. The Federal Ministry of Education has withdrawn its proposed fee adjustment to allow for wider consultations and a comprehensive review following public concerns.
In a statement issued on Monday by the Director of Press and Public Relations, Mrs. Folasade Boriowo, the ministry disclosed that the letter conveying the proposed fee adjustment, dated June 18, 2026, had been officially withdrawn.According to the ministry, the decision was taken in response to concerns and feedback received from members of the public and other stakeholders in the education sector over the proposed increase.
The ministry said the review would provide an opportunity for broader engagement with relevant stakeholders to ensure that any future decision reflects the interests of students, parents, educational institutions and the general public.It reaffirmed the government’s commitment to transparency, inclusive policymaking and the provision of accessible and affordable education.
