Davido replies Edo Gov Okpebholo over comments on Adeleke’s dancing

Afrobeats singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has reacted to comments by Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, who mocked his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, over his frequent dancing at public events.

Davido responded by sharing what appeared to be Governor Okpebholo’s West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) result on his Instagram story, a move that sparked reactions from social media users.
The singer’s post came hours after a video surfaced showing Okpebholo criticising Adeleke’s leadership style during a political gathering.

In the viral video, the Edo governor mocked Adeleke’s habit of dancing at official functions, questioning whether residents were satisfied with his style of governance.
“Before somebody signs paper he will dance. Are you not tired? For four years this man has been dancing. Before he takes breakfast he will dance,” Okpebholo said.

He further accused the Osun governor of being disconnected from current realities, adding that Adeleke dances before official engagements, including before boarding flights.
Okpebholo also urged voters not to support Adeleke, even if they received financial incentives during elections.
“If they bring money, chop that money from them but don’t vote for them,” he said.
In response, Davido posted what appeared to be Okpebholo’s academic result on his verified Instagram story without any accompanying statement.

The document shared by the singer showed grades including D7 in Commerce, Christian Religious Knowledge, Economics and English Language, as well as E8 in Government and C5 in Mathematics.
Davido has not made any further comment on the matter, while Governor Okpebholo has yet to officially respond to the singer’s post.
