Cameroon Win First-Ever WAFCON Title After 3-0 Victory Over MalawiCameroon have been crowned champions of the 2026 TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) after defeating Malawi 3-0 in the final in Rabat, Morocco.

The Indomitable Lionesses produced a dominant first-half performance, with Marie Ngah scoring twice while Naomi Ndjoah Eto added another goal to secure a historic victory.Ngah opened the scoring in the 20th minute before Ndjoah Eto doubled Cameroon’s advantage 10 minutes later. Ngah then struck again in first-half stoppage time to put the game beyond Malawi’s reach.

The triumph marks Cameroon’s first-ever WAFCON title and ends their long wait for continental glory after previous final defeats in 2004, 2014 and 2016.Cameroon also became only the fourth nation to win the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, joining Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea and South Africa.Malawi, meanwhile, finished runners-up in their debut appearance in the WAFCON final after a remarkable run to the championship match.The victory sparked celebrations as Cameroon lifted the continental trophy for the first time in the history of the women’s national team.
