ADC Faces Internal Questions as Aregbesola’s Arrival Loses Early Momentum

No condition, they say, is permanent. A few months ago, it was joy unfettered in the camp of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) when a former chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s strong political ally, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola defected to the party.Believing that they had caught a very big fish in a politician who was not only an influential member of the ruling party but also a confidant of its leader and President of the country, they clinked glasses and exchanged banter as they welcomed him into their midst. And to prove how highly they rated him, he was promptly bestowed the coveted position of the party’s National Secretary. The party’s hierarchy was convinced that in Aregbesola they did not only have an experienced politician to steer the ship of their party but also one to show them the true path to power as an erstwhile APC strategist and mobilizer. He too was said to have boasted at every given opportunity about how important he was to APC as a party and how much the ruling party’s leaders must be regretting losing him to ADC
