The African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has criticised President Bola Tinubu’s economic policies, saying Nigerians are struggling with the rising cost of living.
Atiku, in a statement issued by the Director of Strategic Communications of the ADC Presidential Campaign Council, Phrank Shaibu, said many families could no longer afford basic necessities despite government claims of improved economic performance.

Atiku also pointed to rising fuel, food and transportation costs, arguing that the burden of economic reforms was increasingly being felt by ordinary citizens.
“A mother cannot feed her children with a government revenue announcement. A worker cannot pay transport fare with a speech about reform,” Atiku said.
He added that Nigerians “do not eat GDP figures, FAAC allocations or PowerPoint presentations,” stressing that the benefits of economic reforms must eventually be reflected in the daily lives of citizens.
The former vice president questioned when Nigerians would begin to experience the promised benefits of the government’s economic reforms, asking: “After more than three years, they are entitled to ask: gain for whom?
