AAC presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has alleged that President Bola Tinubu avoided the 81st UN General Assembly in New York because he feared possible arrest in the United States over an alleged past drug-trafficking case.
Sowore also claimed Tinubu was receiving medical treatment in France, rather than being on vacation.
Tinubu’s absence from UNGA has been confirmed, with Vice President Kashim Shettima leading Nigeria’s delegation. The arrest and medical-treatment claims remain allegations by Sowore.
