Troops of Operation Enduring Peace have rescued three kidnap victims and launched a search operation for two others abducted along the Jos–Zaria Road in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.

According to a security report cited by counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, the incident occurred around 9:05 p.m. on June 24, 2026, near the Mista Ali axis after security forces received a distress alert about suspected kidnapping activities along the highway.

Security operatives were said to have responded swiftly to the location, forcing the suspected kidnappers to flee the scene.
The rescued victims were identified as Osuji Franklin, Danjuma Moses, and Irimiya Shehu. They reportedly sustained varying degrees of injuries during the attack and were evacuated to the General Hospital in Mista Ali for medical treatment.

Preliminary findings indicated that the abductors had already taken away two other victims identified as Dayo and Henry Owen before troops arrived at the scene.

Security personnel also recovered an abandoned Opel Zafira vehicle with registration number RYM 25 A2 at the location of the incident.
