Reps Panel Faces Pressure to Summon Gbajabiamila Over Alleged Fake Investment Council , The House of Representatives Ad-Hoc Committee investigating the controversial Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC) is facing increasing pressure to broaden its probe by inviting the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, to appear before it.The development comes as lawmakers intensified their investigation into the alleged operations of the non-existent agency and its purported promoter, Adeniyi Adeyemi.
At its latest sitting, the committee directed the Inspector-General of Police to produce Adeyemi before the panel on Wednesday to answer questions regarding his alleged role in promoting and operating the controversial council.The lawmakers are seeking to establish the circumstances surrounding the creation and activities of the purported agency, amid concerns over the authenticity of documents and claims linked to the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council.The committee’s investigation is expected to determine whether any public officials or institutions were involved in or facilitated the activities of the alleged fake agency, as lawmakers continue efforts to uncover the full extent of the controversy.
