The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Niger State chapter, has condemned the deaths of 37 artisanal miners who died while in the custody of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
CAN Chairman, Most Rev. Bulus Dauwa Yohanna, described the incident as tragic and unacceptable, urging the government to establish committees of inquiry to uncover what led to the deaths.
He condoled with the families of the victims and appealed for calm as authorities investigate the incident.
