South-South Governors to Meet Tinubu Over Regional Infrastructure Deficiencies
The six governors of Nigeria’s South-South geopolitical zone have resolved to engage President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over critical infrastructure and environmental challenges affecting the region.
The governors reached the decision after a meeting held at the Cross River State Government House in Calabar on Monday, where they deliberated on major sociopolitical, economic and political issues confronting the zone.
The governors stressed the need for urgent rehabilitation and modernisation of critical infrastructure, including the Calabar, Port Harcourt and Warri seaports, as well as the development of regional rail infrastructure.
They also identified the economic opportunities associated with the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway as a strategic priority for the region.
In a communique issued after the meeting, the governors of Akwa Ibom, Edo, Delta, Bayelsa,
Rivers and Cross River states reaffirmed their commitment to the re-election of President Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
The governors said their planned engagement with the President would focus on addressing infrastructure deficits and promoting .sustainable economic and environmental development across the South-South region.
I can also make it more catchy and publication-ready, with a stronger headline and a shorter Daily Post-style body.
