2027: Peter Obi replaced Ozigbo, Okonkwo, others with content creators – Bwala

A presidential spokesman, Daniel Bwala, has claimed that the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, replaced some of his former associates with social media content creators ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Bwala made the claim in a post on his X handle on Thursday while reacting to political developments surrounding Obi and his allies.
According to him, some individuals he described as “marginally reasonable,” including Kenneth Okonkwo, Balami, and Valentine Ozigbo, had parted ways with Obi, after which he allegedly surrounded himself with online influencers.

The presidential aide further claimed that Obi had become uncomfortable with the actions of some of the people currently around him.
“When marginally reasonable people like Ken Okonkwo, Balami, Valentine Ozigbo, among others, left him, he replaced them with social media content creators and surrounded himself with them. Now he seems to be embarrassed by their shenanigans,” Bwala wrote.

The statement comes as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 presidential election, with various parties and political figures positioning themselves for the contest.
