Senator Adams Oshiomhole has clarified that Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, is supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid but is not a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).Oshiomhole, who represents Edo North Senatorial District, made the clarification during an interview on TVC on Tuesday, September 29, amid political differences between Wike and some APC governors. The former Edo State governor said Wike and the APC governors may have differences over political matters, but both sides are united in their support for Tinubu’s bid to remain in office.
He said he had not heard either side oppose the President’s re-election.“Wike is supporting President Tinubu and not the APC,” Oshiomhole said, adding that Wike had repeatedly stated that he is not an APC member but supports the President.Wike had similarly stated earlier in September that his support for Tinubu’s 2027 presidential bid does not mean he has joined the APC or that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) should not field candidates in governorship and legislative elections. He has also described the Rainbow Coalition as a platform for mobilising support for Tinubu across political parties. The clarification comes amid ongoing political disagreements between Wike and some APC governors over political alliances and the 2027 elections, with APC leadership saying differences should be managed through dialogue and mutual respect.👉 Follow Daily Times Nigeria for more updates.#DailyTimesNigeria #Wike #Oshiomhole #NigeriaPolitics #NigeriaNews
