The Benue State Police Command has presented insurance cheques to families of officers who died in the line of duty.
The cheques were presented on Tuesday at the Command Headquarters in Makurdi as part of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu’s efforts to support families of officers who lost their lives while serving the country.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Cletus C.N. Nwadiobu, expressed condolences to the bereaved families, saying no financial assistance could replace their loved ones.
He said the insurance benefits were intended to provide relief and help beneficiaries meet immediate needs, including the welfare and education of children left behind.
Nwadiobu urged the families to use the funds judiciously and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to the welfare of police personnel and their families.
