Nigerian troops have foiled coordinated attacks by terrorists on two military bases in Borno State, killing several attackers and forcing others to surrender.
The attacks targeted Forward Operating Bases in Gajiram and Mairari, where troops, backed by air support and intelligence from the Multinational Joint Task Force, mounted strong resistance.
The military said four terrorist bodies were recovered, alongside AK-47 rifles, ammunition, RPG bombs, magazines and a camcorder.
Two JAS terrorists, including a commander, also surrendered with their weapons.
The Theatre Commander of Operation HADIN KAI, Major General Ibikunle Ajose, commended the troops and aircrew for their vigilance and coordination.
