The Nigerian Navy has uncovered 119,850 litres of suspected stolen crude oil at an illegal refining site in Ogbogolo Community, Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The discovery was made on Thursday by personnel of NNS SOROH following intelligence on the illegal operation.
The crude oil was found in five dugout pits, while the operation also yielded 350 litres of suspected illegally refined AGO and 25 parcels of suspected cannabis.
The suspects reportedly fled the scene when they spotted the naval personnel.
The operation was conducted under Operation DELTA SENTINEL, the Navy’s ongoing campaign against crude oil theft and illegal refining in the Niger Delta.
The Navy said the operation demonstrates its continued efforts to disrupt illegal oil activities across the region.
