The Nigerian Ambassador to the United States, Kayode Are, has suggested that President Bola Tinubu may visit the United States before the end of his diplomatic tenure.
Are noted that any potential visit by President Bola Tinubu would depend on scheduling arrangements and contingency planning tied to the President’s official itinerary.
Speaking during an interview on
Channels Television with journalist Laolu Akande, the ambassador also indicated that such a visit could include a possible meeting with former U.S. President Donald Trump.
He explained that discussions between both countries remain active at multiple levels, even if a formal presidential meeting has not yet taken place.
“The relationship between the two countries is strong, and engagements are ongoing from top to bottom,” he said, adding that the timing of any visit would ultimately depend on the President’s schedule and international commitments.
Are further expressed hope that a presidential visit would take place during his tenure, describing it as a significant milestone in U.S.–Nigeria relations, while stressing that no final arrangement has been confirmed.
