[Breaking News]: Popular Politician Escapes Assassination

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in Osun State, Najeem Salaam, has reportedly escaped an alleged assassination attempt in Ejigbo Local Government Area of the state.

The incident reportedly occurred at Ward 4, Unit 13, shortly after Salaam cast his vote during the ongoing electoral process.

According to the ADC Publicity Secretary, Abosede Busayo Oluwaseun, the situation was brought under control after concerned residents intervened and swiftly moved the candidate away from the scene.

Oluwaseun said the intervention of residents helped prevent the incident from escalating into a potentially fatal situation.

“Had it not been for the timely intervention and intelligence of residents at the scene, what happened today could have resulted in yet another tragic loss of life,” he said.

The party official added that the incident disrupted voting activities at the polling unit, although further details on the circumstances surrounding the alleged attack were not immediately available.

The development has raised concerns over the safety of political candidates and voters as the electoral process continues across Osun State.
