NUPRC Warns Nigerians Against Fake, AI-Generated Employment LettersThe Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) has warned Nigerians against falling victim to fake and AI-generated employment letters being circulated in the name of the commission.The regulator said the fraudulent letters, some of which bear the names of individuals unknown to the commission, were being used by criminal elements to deceive job seekers and extort money from unsuspecting members of the public.In a statement issued on Tuesday by its spokesperson, Eniola Akinkuotu, the NUPRC said it had reported the activities to relevant law enforcement agencies and was awaiting the outcome of investigations.The commission stressed that there is currently no ongoing recruitment exercise at the NUPRC and urged members of the public to disregard any purported employment offers issued in its name.The regulator added that whenever it opens a recruitment exercise, the process would be conducted in accordance with applicable laws and government regulations.The warning comes amid increasing cases of fraudulent recruitment schemes targeting job seekers with fake appointment letters and other deceptive documents.
