Atiku, Obi May Lose to Tinubu in 2027 Unless Opposition Unites — Adeyanju. Activist and political commentator Deji Adeyanju has warned that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi may lose to President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election unless opposition parties unite behind a single candidate.Adeyanju said the fragmentation of the opposition could work in favour of the incumbent if Atiku, Obi and other opposition figures contest separately.
He stressed the need for opposition political parties and their leaders to put aside individual interests and work towards presenting a common presidential candidate capable of challenging Tinubu.According to him, a divided opposition would make it difficult to defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress in the 2027 election. The comments come amid ongoing political realignments and discussions among opposition leaders ahead of the 2027 general elections, with several political figures exploring possible alliances to challenge the Tinubu administration.
