Yenagoa, Bayelsa State — The Bayelsa State chapter of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has declared that no form of inducement or financial incentive can stop the party from achieving its ambition of taking over governance of the state in 2027.
Speaking with journalists in Yenagoa, the State Chairman of the party, Hon. Dauprebo Ikuromo, urged the administration of Governor Douye Diri to adopt an inclusive leadership style that prioritizes the welfare of Bayelsans over political interests, with focus on sustainable development and economic growth.
Ikuromo accused the state government of allegedly attempting to lure NDC aspirants with financial inducements aimed at creating divisions within the party, insisting such efforts would not succeed.
“No form of inducement can divert the NDC from its objective of assuming leadership in the state,” he said.
He further advised the government to channel resources toward addressing pressing developmental challenges, including concerns surrounding “commissioned but non-operational gas turbines” in the state.
On internal party matters, Ikuromo disclosed that a grievance redress mechanism had been established under the leadership of Senator Henry Seriake Dickson to manage complaints and ensure unity within the party.
He also noted that the party’s National Executive Council would soon release the list of candidates for various positions in line with the timetable of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Commending the party’s national leadership, Ikuromo praised the conduct of primary elections, describing the process as fair and inclusive, particularly in relation to youth and women participation.
He called on members across Bayelsa to remain united and focused on the party’s goal of dislodging what he described as a ruling party that has failed to deliver meaningful progress to the people.
