The Chief Executive Officer of Jenew Homes Limited, Mrs Jennifer Onoh, has denied allegations that she ordered the demolition of a business premises belonging to Mr Ikenna Abanonu of New Berries Park, Enugu.
Abanonu had alleged in a video shared on the New Berries Park social media page and circulated on other platforms that Onoh brought a caterpillar to demolish his place of business on July 19, 2026.
However, in a disclaimer issued on July 21, 2026, Onoh described the allegation as false, misleading and malicious, insisting that she neither authorised nor participated in any demolition exercise involving the property.
She stated that the land in dispute was duly allocated to Jenew Homes Limited by the Land Use Allocation Committee of the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing, now the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, on August 15, 2022.
According to her, possession of the property was handed over to the company by the ministry on January 16, 2026, following the enforcement of a Federal High Court judgment delivered on January 31, 2022.
Onoh, however, said vacant possession of the property had not been delivered to the company, adding that the matter had been formally brought to the attention of the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development for necessary action.
She urged members of the public to disregard the publication, describing it as defamatory and a misrepresentation of the facts surrounding the property.
The Jenew Homes boss further warned Abanonu and others responsible for circulating the allegations to desist from making further statements capable of damaging her reputation and that of the company, adding that legal action would be taken if such publications continued.
