Badejo-Okusanya Pledges Better Welfare for Lawyers After Emerging NBA PresidentThe newly elected President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, has pledged to build an association that will improve the welfare and professional lives of lawyers across the country.Badejo-Okusanya made the promise in a message posted on her X handle on Sunday shortly after she was declared winner of the Nigerian Bar Association’s 2026 national officers’ election.
She said her administration would focus on creating an NBA where every lawyer has the opportunity to “earn better, live better, and practise better.”Her election makes her the 33rd President of the Nigerian Bar Association and only the second woman to occupy the office in the association’s history.In her appreciation message, the newly elected NBA president thanked members of the association for the confidence reposed in her, describing her victory as a collective achievement for lawyers who believed in a more inclusive, responsive and progressive NBA.Badejo-Okusanya also reaffirmed her commitment to advancing the interests of legal practitioners and strengthening the association through inclusive leadership and reforms aimed at improving members’ welfare and professional development.
