Umahi Breaks Silence on Aide’s Death, Dismisses Foul Play Allegations. Abuja – Minister of Works, David Umahi, has broken his silence over the death of Miss Mary Habila, a staff member who died at his residence in Uburu, Ebonyi State, insisting that he suspects no foul play and describing attempts to link him to the incident as “politics taken too far.”Speaking on Thursday, Umahi said the deceased, whom he described as “like a daughter,” had worked closely with him for several years and had a history of medical challenges for which he personally funded treatment. The minister said Habila had been a dedicated member of his team and dismissed insinuations that her death was connected to any criminal act or misconduct at his residence.

According to Umahi, the late aide had complained of bleeding from her nose during a phone conversation with her boyfriend shortly before she was found dead, adding that there was no evidence to suggest foul play.He maintained that efforts to implicate him in the incident were politically motivated, stressing that the circumstances surrounding Habila’s death did not support allegations of wrongdoing.Umahi expressed sadness over the loss of his aide and urged the public to refrain from politicising the tragic incident while relevant authorities continue with necessary procedures.
