Keyamo Demands Apology, N25,000 Fine from Peter Obi Over Airport Parking ViolationThe Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo (SAN), has asked the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, to apologise to airport officials and pay a N25,000 fine over an alleged parking violation at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.Keyamo made the demand in a statement posted on his X account on Friday, following an internal inquiry he said was initiated to verify Obi’s claim that the tyres of his vehicle were “unjustly” clamped by airport authorities.
According to the minister, the investigation was conducted to establish the facts surrounding the incident after Obi publicly alleged that airport officials acted unfairly in enforcing parking regulations.Keyamo maintained that no individual is above the law, insisting that airport rules apply equally to all users regardless of their status or political affiliation. He called on Obi to apologise to the affected airport officials and settle the prescribed N25,000 fine for the alleged parking violation, stressing that compliance with established regulations is necessary to uphold order and discipline at the nation’s airports.
