Makinde Visits Rescued Oriire Pupils, Teachers at Army Headquarters. IBADAN — Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on Saturday visited the rescued pupils and teachers from Oriire Local Government Area at the Nigerian Army’s 2 Division Headquarters in Ibadan.

The governor’s convoy departed the military facility after meeting with the rescued victims, military officials and members of the press.Makinde’s visit followed the successful rescue of the pupils and teachers who were abducted during the May 15 attack on three schools in Oriire Local Government Area and spent 55 days in captivity before regaining their freedom.

The governor is expected to receive a briefing from security officials on the rescue operation and the condition of the victims, who are currently undergoing medical evaluation before being reunited with their families.The visit underscores the Oyo State Government’s commitment to supporting the rescued pupils and teachers as they begin their recovery following the traumatic ordeal.
