Rescued Oyo School Pupils, Teachers Receiving Medical Care – Army. IBADAN — The Nigerian Army has confirmed that the 44 pupils and teachers rescued from captivity following the abduction at schools in Oyo State are currently receiving medical treatment at an undisclosed hospital.The Army said the victims, who were rescued on Friday, would be handed over to the Oyo State Government after receiving the necessary medical attention before being reunited with their families.In a statement issued by the Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, 2 Division, Lt.-Col. Danjuma Jonah, the military said the rescued pupils and teachers were in stable condition and undergoing medical evaluation as part of post-rescue procedures.

The victims were among those abducted during the May 15 attack on schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, an incident that sparked widespread concern over the safety of schools in the state.The Army reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property, adding that security agencies would continue efforts to combat kidnapping and other criminal activities across the country.
