The Command’s spokesperson, SP Ramhan Nansel, disclosed the incident in a statement issued on Wednesday, saying security operatives are intensifying efforts to secure the release of the remaining two students.According to the police, the abduction occurred on Tuesday night at Living Seed Lodge, a student accommodation located in a bushy area on the outskirts of the university’s residential community in Lafia.The statement said officers swiftly launched a search-and-rescue operation after receiving reports of the attack, leading to the successful rescue of one of the abducted students.
Efforts are ongoing to track down the gunmen and ensure the safe return of the two remaining victims.The Police Command reassured residents and members of the university community of its commitment to restoring security in the area and urged the public to remain calm while providing useful information that could aid the ongoing operation.
